Arshia Madni MD FAAP is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. She is the Program Director of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship and Co-Directs the Center for Bioethics and Health Equity. She currently previously has been on multiple ethics committees and currently chairs the ethics committee at her home institution.
Dr. Madni’s academic and research focus is cultural humility and social justice in palliative care. Her works includes implicit bias in research, equitable and humble care for patients receiving palliative care and ethical dilemmas in pediatric cancer. Her research in this area has been presented at national conferences.
In addition to her local leadership roles, she chairs the diversity and inclusion committee at the TN American Academy of Pediatrics committee and American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
She has also authored a book for bereaved children entitled "Prayers for My Sister".
